This week is the start of Domestic Violence Awareness Month! House of Ruth is joining the DC Coalition Against Domestic Violence and other local organizations in raising awareness about domestic violence and working to end violence against women and children.
On October 2nd, House of Ruth staff took over McPherson Square metro station to Paint The Town Purple—sharing resources and information to engaging the community in preventing domestic violence.
On October 17, from 10 a.m. – 1 p.m., in conjunction with the Department of Human Services, House of Ruth will be holding an open house for clients and providers at the National City Christian Church (5 Thomas Circle NW). Be sure to stop by to learn more about the housing programs and services offered at House of Ruth. The first hour will be geared towards providers (counseling, housing, childcare, etc.). The following two hours, from 11 am – 1 pm, will be an open house for the entire community. We hope to see you there!
Be sure to check out the full Calendar of Events and join us in the fight to end domestic violence.
