On October 24th, House of Ruth joined the DC Coalition Against Domestic Violence (DCCADV) and other local organizations in wearing purple to honor victims and support survivors of domestic violence for Purple Thursday. The Mayor’s Office on Women’s Policy and Initiatives, the DC Office of Victim Services and Justice Grants, and Mayor Bowser addressed attendees on the steps of the National City Christian Church. They spoke in support of survivors and emphasized their commitment to ending domestic violence in the District.
