The Feminine Experience: Welcoming to All

On March 4, The Feminine Experience was staged by 21 talented women who used improv techniques and skills to share their stories—and all ticket sales and money raised was donated to House of Ruth, to help the women and children we serve tell their own stories. The audience wrote questions down as they arrived at the Washington Improv Theater, and then the night’s moderator asked each woman a different question.

The women’s stories, told in 3-4 minutes, were spellbinding, powerful, hilarious and heartbreaking. The questions ranged from “What do you wish you had said?” to “What do you call yourself when you are alone?” We are deeply grateful to the organizers for encouraging women to tell and share their stories; and for sharing the more than $3,500 raised with House of Ruth. We will use this generous gift to encourage all the women and children we serve to honor and share their own stories.
