House of Ruth had the distinct honor of welcoming German Federal Minister Lisa Paus, esteemed members of the German Embassy Washington, and leaders from the Administration for Children and Families (ACF) to our Kidspace Child and Family Development Center.
The visit was a remarkable opportunity for us to share the nearly 50-year legacy of House of Ruth in serving women and children in Washington, D.C. Our guests were given an in-depth tour of Kidspace, where they observed firsthand the comprehensive services and nurturing environment we provide to our youngest participants and their families.
Minister Paus, along with her delegation, engaged in meaningful discussions with our staff, exploring the challenges and triumphs we’ve encountered over the decades. The exchange of insights was mutually enriching, shedding light on both the commonalities and unique aspects of child and family support services in the United States and Germany.

The leaders from ACF also provided valuable perspectives, reinforcing the importance of collaborative efforts in advancing child and family welfare. Their presence and participation underscored the commitment shared by all parties to enhance the lives of those we serve.
We extend our heartfelt gratitude to Marion Meakem for capturing the essence of this special evening through her beautiful photographs. Her images eloquently convey the warmth and hope that define House of Ruth.
Thank you to all who made this visit possible and to our guests for their genuine interest and support. Together, we continue to build a safe and supportive environment for those in need.
