Every year, our community rallies together to ensure the kids in House of Ruth programs are ready to hit the ground running when the school bell rings. Traditionally, our back-to-school drive focuses on gathering school supplies to set our students up for success. But this year, we took it a step further.
Not only did we gather backpacks and pencils, but we also launched a uniform drive to ease the financial burden on our families. A request that came directly from the parents in our programs. By providing these essentials, you helped our families focus on what matters most—healing and achieving their case management goals.
And when we put out the call for help, you answered in a big way.
Thanks to your incredible generosity, 92 kids walked into their classrooms with everything they needed—from head to toe. Backpacks filled with supplies? Check. A fresh wardrobe of uniforms—polos, pants, and shoes—that makes them feel confident and ready to learn? Double-check!

This year, as our youngest students learn to trace their first letters and our older ones tackle complex equations, they do so without the worry of being unprepared—all because of you. Your support didn’t just equip them with school supplies. You gave them the confidence to walk into school ready to shine.
A special shout-out goes to the following companies that adopted grade groups to provide school supplies or uniforms:
- ABS Group
- American Public Health Association
- Axinn, Veltrop & Harkrider LLP
- MedStar National Rehabilitation Hospital
From all of us here at House of Ruth, thank you for ensuring these kids were ready to rule on their first day back to school!
