She looked in the mirror—and smiled.
She slipped on a blazer, checked her reflection, and paused.
“I haven’t felt this ready in a long time,” she said.
That moment happened because someone believed in her.
Because someone reminded her: You have something to offer.
That’s what our mission at House of Ruth is all about.
And this week, it came to life in the most powerful way.
Empowerment in Action: Deloitte Impact Day
For the third year, House of Ruth was honored to be a featured nonprofit partner for Deloitte’s Impact Day, celebrating its 26th year of community service in 2025.
The Deloitte team at Rosslyn curated a Women’s Career Kickstarter—a day centered on career readiness, confidence-building, and encouragement for the women in our programs.
Deloitte volunteers offered:
- Interview prep
- Resume review
- Career coaching conversations
- Professional makeovers
- Work wear boutique
- Headshots

Our program participants took home more than professional attire and spruced up resumes. Through each service offered, the Deloitte team sent a powerful message to each woman. You are seen. You have value. You are worthy.
Because of You
This is the power of partnership, and it’s only possible because of you.
Your generosity allows us to show up fully for every woman rebuilding her life.
Every brave step a woman takes is supported by a community walking beside her. That includes you and the incredible partners who bring care and purpose to everything they do.
A heartfelt thank you to Christine Davie, Jenna Flack, Carlena Obasi, and Neisha Harewood Bailey for your continued support of House of Ruth through this meaningful event.
Together we’re helping women not just survive, but thrive.
